These self-regulation stones are an open-ended, flexible resource designed to help children express their emotions when they cannot find the words to do so. Choosing an image that represents their emotion will enable them to explore how they are feeling, what triggered this feeling and how it can be managed constructively, or celebrated. Being able to recognise an emotion and understand it more fully will enable healthy self-regulation, support children’s development and their engagement with others. This set of twelve stones can also be used for mindfulness activities and are robust enough for the outdoors.

The sensory stones are quite unique as sensory toys. Despite being hard, their texture offers a smooth feel when held. Each set of sensory stones has its unique tactile texxture, making them ideal for sensory play.

Pláneta reccomends

After your little one has finished playing with the stones, allow them to rinse them with warm water. Us grownups often forget that to a children usually enjoy giving a helping hand, plus cleaning can be an excellent opportunity for sensoy play.  Put a little bit of warm water in a sensory bin or a bucket and let the little one scrub the stones with a dishwashing brush.

Care

During rainy days or just when the weather doesn't seem ideal for outdoor play, it is normal to feel most relaxed within the comfort and safety of the house, but sometimes it can be to everyones benefit to put on a raincoat and go out and jump in puddles and play in the mud.
